About ArmEngine Print E-mail
ArmEngine is an international group of Armenian engineers of Electronics, Computer Science/Engineering and/or related fields who collaborate/network in order to create an atmosphere where new ideas can be born. The ultimate goal of this group is to motivate and empower Armenian engineers to come up with new ideas for a successful future.

ArmEngine is a networking portal and forum to exchange information, ideas as well as solving possible technical problems related and/or relevant to Electronics and Computer Engineering/Science.

We are not only interested in our own success but also to serve a great cause, i.e. helping Armenia with specific projects.

ArmEngine is founded on Aug. 5, 2004, by Richard Ohanian in Pasadena, California, and it has gone through many development phases, thanks to the input/contribution of active members, especially the group of moderators.

We know that every career needs professional connections. Through ArmEngine, we connect to one another. We think Armenian engineers should be successful socially, financially and professionally and they should have a bright future. The net trickle down effect of that success as well as a globally connected network of Armenian experts of EE and CS will have its definite and positive effects on Armenia's economy and technological advances.

Members of ArmEngine can use the group as a communication tool for their own personal interests and success. We believe that each member's success is everyone's.

Currently, through ArmEngine, some 200 Armenian professionals worldwide are connected to each other.

The story of ArmEngine:
On August 4, 2004, Armenian engineers group of EE and CS, "ArmEngine" was born as a Yahoo group. The group started to attract people from different fields of EE and CS and also from different parts of the world. Discussion of technical and non-technical issues related to EE/CS/Armenians/ArmEngine was the main topics of day. In less than a few months, ArmEngine membership grew to more than 100, worldwide.

The second phase of ArmEngine development started with the creation of the Mod Team. In short, it is fair to say that ArmEngine was reborn by its Mod Team. The moderator team, consisting of dedicated and active members who were interested in running ArmEngine took over in October '04.

Another major development in the history of the group came with launching group's websites, the armengine.com and armengine.org, serving as the group's interface to the world and also functioning as an auxiliary forum, next to the Yahoo group.

Monthly technical presentations/talks have been another success for ArmEngine. Our talks (on different EE/CS topics) have been attractive to many Armenian professionals in Los Angeles area.

ArmEngine distributes e-newsletters to its members on a quarterly basis. The newsletter includes information about events, announcements, projects/initiatives, and other organizational announcements.  ArmEngine website has been updated with the latest important news of the industry as well as RSS feeds for job opportunities.

A constitution for the organization has been written by the Moderator team. ArmEngine members are to abide by the constitution. The constitution is available bellow.
