Book Drive to Armenia Late last year, ArmEngine decided to embark on an initiative to lead a Book Drive to Armenia. We are currently coordinating drop-off locations and sponsors for the Book Drive. Students, professors and working professionals are encouraged to donate books of various disciplines with an emphasis on Engineering related studies. AESA (Armenian Engineers and Scientists of America) has generously agreed to deliver the books to Armenia. If you have books that you would like to donate, please email bookdrive@armengine.com. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Groong RSS feed We are currently working on providing an RSS feed for USC Groong News Email Archive. Technical support services include setting up local area networks, website development, and troubleshooting of existing issues. As a token of our commitment to this initiative, we are currently helping St Gregory's Church in Pasadena with development of their website and installation of a local area network. If you would like to submit a request for an Armenian church that is in need of our services, please send an email to church@armengine.com. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Google-ian The motivation and direction of this partnership for the future is to build a set of Armenian Knowledge repositories of data where Google services can be developed and deployed to facilitate the search, semantic classification and publication of information to clients. Some of these services will be visible in your online experience, others will not. Project Google-ian is an effort to...
Furthermore, we are currently working on an Armenian Academic/Professional Community that will be powered by Google. The framework for this application is a suite of re-usable, integrated, collaborative, and near real-time services that can be applied to any organization of varying sizes of personnel. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Collaboration with ArmenCal ArmEngine is currently working on two enhancements for ArmenCal that are scheduled to be released in the next few months. For those unfamiliar with their efforts, the Laboratory is setup to provide under privileged young Armenian students with software and computer skills to enhance their educational skills. ArmEngine will be sponsoring a fund-raiser activity to solicit from local businesses any and all relevant equipment that is necessary. We are also exploring the possibility of providing some open source software that will enhance the educational experience of students in Armenia. Some of the supplies we are interested in collecting include but not limited to...

Currently, there are quite a few repositories that are not available online due to being on an island (intranet) and for other reasons. We understand the importance for preservation and availability of information regarding Armenian news, events, culture and history to those interested. We envision that this repository would ultimately serve as a reference resource for students and researchers. We believe that this initiative will aide students and researchers find more information regarding Armenian culture both past and present. Additionally, Google archives would ensure efficient searching methods to find the most relevant information possible. If you are interested in contributing to this initiative, please email archive@armengine.com. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Armenian Web Security Group Each year, Armenians all around the world witness the unfortunate and derogatory defacing of websites geared to raise awareness of the Armenian Genocide and other sites of interest. As with most problems, there are often two solutions (Do something about it or wait until it goes away). A group of ArmEngine members have decided to provide consulting services to those who are in need of or interested for help. Regretfully, we have personally seen a rise in cyber-terrorist networks that provide subscription based services to mass disseminate software vulnerabilities. Often times, the vulnerabilities are sold to the highest bidder, in which case has been seen to be as low as $40 US dollars. These networks offer monthly subscription based services to disseminate software vulnerabilities available to a much larger community in a way much easier than in the past. At minimum, we would like to ask you to stop hosting sites on Windows servers. Additionally, we would like to ask that you do not use Microsoft Internet Explorer to perform website administration work as it provides little protection against well known scripts. We understand the challenges that rise ahead, but we also understand the cost of standing by to see it happen again in the years to come. If you are interested in receiving information on how to protect your assets, please email security@armengine.com. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Armenian Language Translator There is currently no automated tool to perform translation of common world languages to Armenian and vice versa. As a result...
If you know of any Armenian or English linguists that are willing to donate a portion of their time to work on this project or would like to become a sponsor, please email translator@armengine.com. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Instant Messenger for Charity Instant messenger is a commonly used application by millions of people world wide. ArmEngine has created a new project to develop an instant messenger client that provides similar functionality as commonly used IM applications. This new IM client will differ in that ArmEngine will make donations to Armenian charities just by having users use the IM client. You can use your existing Yahoo or MSN messenger screen names without having to create a separate screen name. We are currently prototyping the proposed solution. If you would like to advertise your business on messenger or help with developement efforts, please contact messenger@armengine.com. |
